Care Corner: January 2018

For the month of January, the ALC Care Corner will be serving the House of Hope in Waterloo. House of Hope provides two-year transitional housing and support services for homeless, single mothers and their children. Women receive individualized case management to identify and overcome barriers to independence. While in the program, women pay off fines and debts, attend weekly life skills classes, achieve educational goals, obtain gainful employment and more, with guidance from a compassionate, professionally trained staff. House of Hope currently serves 10 families and is expanding to 15 families in 2018. The organization also is starting a program this year to assist young women who have spent extensive time in or aged out of foster care.

For our project, we will be collecting food items and also will have a “Hope Tree” for other needed supplies. You can choose an item from the Hope Tree and return it to the Care Corner in the Fellowship Hall anytime in January. Thank you for your care and support of this important cause!
