Gathering Love

On a black velvet cloth lie three beautiful diamonds. They all glisten in the light; they are all cut precisely. But are they all diamonds? No. One is glass; one is zircon; and one is an actual diamond.

So too, the word 'love' is attractive and appetizing. But is all love true love? No. There is 'IF' love which says, "IF you meet my expectations, I will love you." There is 'BECAUSE' love which says, "I love you BECAUSE you are rich, powerful, or beautiful." And there is 'IN SPITE OF' love. This one says, "I love you IN SPITE OF your being ugly, uneducated, poor; I love you as a God's child like me, created in the image of God." This is unconditional love; it is real love like a real diamond. This is the kind of love we need today to bring all people on earth into one family, as God himself planned.

Therefore, let us endeavor to build close-knit communities of loving people in the milieu through the way in which we llive, so that one day all humanity will become one loving community.

No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
