“He is Risen”

Although death comes to us all, we rejoice in the promise of resurrection to eternal life. At death, for God's faithful people, life is changed not taken away. Since God "is not God of the dead, but God of the living, for all who live to him" (Luke 20:38), we are children of God of the resurrection. Just as a person casts off worn-out garments and puts on the new, even so, at death, our embodied souls will cast off our worn-out bodies and take on the new. Hence, the resurrection is the beginning of a new life out of death.

In 1 Corinthians 15: 13-16, the Apostle writes, "But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty.

"Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone; Because I know He holds the future. And life is worth living - Just because He lives."

Jesus is truly risen! May Jesus rise for people around the world through our prayer and love! Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal and new life.
