The Thanksgivers!

How generous God is when he gives us his gifts! He gives us not just a flower, but a bouquet; not just a drop of water, but an ocean; not just a grain of sand, but a beach; not just a blade of grass, but a lawn; not just something to eat, but his own body and blood in the Eucharist. How generous are we when we give to God and his people in need?

It has been said that there are three kinds of givers: Grudge givers, Duty givers, and Thanks givers. Grudge givers say, "I have to give." Duty givers, "I ought to give." Thanks givers, "I want to give."

Who are we when it comes to giving to God and the needy? The question is not, "How much is the most I have to give?" The question is, "How much dare I keep and live like a Christian?"

Each one must give as he or she has decided in their hearts, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for "God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)
